“Anyone can make money with a website”
The above statement is true but only if you look in the right places as I found out. I started out just like you a few years ago, curiously thinking : How do websites make money? I’ll explain my answer to that in a moment but part of my journey was to take action myself. As a single mother of two, I didn’t really have time (or admittingly the patience!) for any courses as they typically involve travelling or many late nights which just isn’t practical at all. There are very few sites which help you along the way but the ones who do are extremely valuable and are extraordinarily good in teaching you what makes a good website in such a simplistic way which believe it or not, is the best mind set you can have!
Simple is the *only* way
So, why is simple the best mind set you can have? You automatically appeal to the majority of online users, its what makes a good website! Think about what sites you use. Facebook is the obvious one. It has a clean and easy to use interface and that’s exactly why it was successful from the start. If you make a complicated website full of clutter, unnecessary features and a poor design, you may attract a handful of people to your website if you have good content but that’s about it. Another point on the original question, how do websites make money is that a simple design and interface is crucial and will easily make money along with it.

This is the juicy part where I tell you of how websites make money. I won’t go into detail about marketplace websites such as Ebay or Amazon as they are plainly buying and selling based and we all know how they work, basically being an online marketplace. What you want to know is a term called passive income. This means earning an income while you do nothing, after you spend a small portion of time adding the content. Literally, I spent a few hours a day of my (rare!) spare time for not even a week and my website was ready! How do websites make money from passive income? The majority of big and small websites make use of this method by placing adverts on their website. It’s exactly how to make money off a website. If the website design is simple and clean, the adverts stand out more and that’s all there is to it, no sugar coating! What about the difference between tiny and established sites? The same concept proves true, they just expand on it by spending a portion of their profits on advertising. I went from earning hundreds upon starting to earn thousands within a few months then tens of thousands after a year!

There’s a simple tool which is essential for creating the perfect, simple and effective design like I explained to start earning passive income, so you can kiss goodbye to your day job and enjoy real freedom! That tool exists on all computers! It’s notepad. You could even just use a real notepad if you want but its quicker to just use the built in notepad on your computer so you can copy and paste your content.
